Big Bear Racing is a horse racing partnership with a unique difference. We are proudly at the forefront of relocating tried horses across Australia into easier grades of racing, allowing these horses a better chance of successfully working through their grades.
We partner with friends, family, business partners and create ownership opportunities to suit everyone’s needs. Our goal is to provide you with a winning horse that will work through their grades and provide you with an opportunity to make a profit and importantly enjoy all that horse racing in Australia has to offer.
Our horses are sourced predominately from the leading stables in Sydney and Melbourne. Working with our trusted contacts and Bloodstock agents alike, we have unique access to secure the best-tried horses and carefully select the trainers we work within North Queensland; North Western NSW and Mid North Coast NSW.
We understand that communication is paramount and we aim to give all our owners the best experience and opportunities the horse racing industry provides, second to none.

We make it easy for you to own a share in a race horse, generally in 5%, 10%, 20% shares.
Paperwork + Payments
Simply fill in a transfer of Horse Ownership form
All owners names will be individually shown in the ownership
Payment is made to Big Bear Racing who facilitate payments with the trainers on your behalf
Payments will be made monthly via cash or bank transfer or direct debit can be arranged
Prizemoney
- Prizemoney is paid directly to you via your nominated Bank account from the racing jurisdiction your horse is racing in
Raceday
You’re entitled to all ownership privileges each and every race day; free entry to course and race book (this can vary from course to course)
Major race days Big Bear Racing may have additional opportunities of hospitality made available to our owners
Race day is always a great day to meet with our trainers, jockeys, supporters and other owners to talk tactics and get to know the decisions being made; why certain tracks we race at; distances; jockeys and the “inside” info to have a punt
Communication
Communication is provided regularly and rest assured you will know if you should be betting or not on your horse
Updates from the spelling paddock; notifications when your horse comes back into work; notification of upcoming trials; trial reports; nominations updates; acceptances updates
The day before or the morning of; Track condition, Betting Advice and What’s expected
After each run, you will know what our jockey said and our trainer’s thoughts
Communication is provided via email; WhatsApp; text/phone and even over a beer.
We endeavour to answer all your questions about your horse in a timely and professional manner.
